Five years ago, we started the Chronic Explorers with a simple belief: travel should feel personal, intentional, and deeply cared for. We weren’t interested in selling trips for the sake of it. We wanted to create journeys that feel meaningful, where the details are handled and the experience can take center stage.
From the very beginning, Hosted Journeys became the heart of what we do. They’re how we built this company. They’re how many of you found us. And they continue to be what our travelers love most about traveling with the Chronic Explorers.
As we celebrate five years, it feels like the right moment to reflect on why these journeys matter so much to us and to share what’s ahead.
What Hosted Group Travel Means to Us (and Our Travelers)
Hosted Journeys aren’t just trips we plan. They’re experiences we personally guide, alongside small groups of like-minded travelers who value connection, comfort, and meaningful exploration.
Each journey is intentionally designed to be:
Small-group and fully hosted
We travel with you from start to finish, guiding the journey and handling the details so you don’t have to.
Adults-only
These experiences are reserved for guests 18 and over, creating space for deeper connection, shared moments, and a relaxed pace.
More inclusive by design
Accommodations, most meals, basic bevvies, ground transportation, and unique experiences are included so you can focus on the journey, not the math.
Rooted in real connection
To the destination, the culture, and the people you’re traveling with. Many Hosted Journeys start with strangers and end with genuine friendships.
This is travel designed to feel effortless without ever feeling generic.

Looking Ahead: Our Hosted Journeys for 2026 and Beyond
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for us, and it also happens to be a milestone one. Five years in, we’re more clear than ever about what we love most: curating small-group journeys that feel seamless, meaningful, and deeply human.
Here’s where we’ll be hosting next:
Peru (May 2026)
A journey through the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco that blends history, culture, and that feeling you only get when a place truly moves you.
Alaska (July 2026) | Our Five-Year Anniversary Celebration Journey
This one is special. Alaska is our way of celebrating five years of the Chronic Explorers with a journey that’s all about big landscapes, fresh air, shared adventure, and the kind of moments you don’t rush through.
Botswana (Fall 2026)
An intimate safari experience in the Okavango Delta, designed around wildlife, water, and a sense of wonder that’s hard to put into words until you’re there.
South Africa (October 2026)
A favorite for a reason, blending the energy of Cape Town and the Winelands with a luxury safari experience that always leaves us in awe.
Antarctica (January 2027)
A once-in-a-lifetime expedition to the seventh continent for travelers ready to do something bold and unforgettable.
Several of these journeys are already sold out or nearing capacity, which continues to remind us how much our travelers value this style of travel.
Every Hosted Journey is fully guided by our team, designed for adults-only travel, and curated to balance comfort, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
Why Travelers Keep Coming Back
We hear the same things again and again from our Hosted Journey travelers.
They love not having to think about logistics.
They love the balance of structure and freedom.
They love traveling with people who share a similar curiosity and outlook.
And they love knowing someone is there, every step of the way.
Hosted Journeys allow you to show up fully. To be present. To experience the destination without carrying the weight of planning, coordinating, or problem-solving.
That’s what we set out to create five years ago, and it’s what continues to guide us today.
